Blakeney Area – Charlotte, NC
Posted by markwatson1967 under For Buyers, For Sellers, General Information
Well if you haven’t checked out the new Blakeney area in South Charlotte, you need too! This new and growing area sits south-east of Ballantyne. Like Ballantyne, Blakeney has its own shopping and dining venue as well as professional businesses and services. The heart of Blakeney is located at the major cross streets of Rea Road and Ardrey Kell Road. One one of the 4 corners of these crossroads, you will find the Blakeney shopping center where you’ll be able to do your grocery shopping at Harris Teeter and your daily shopping at Target. You’ll also find more great shopping like Home Goods, Marshalls, Off Broadway, Victoria’s Secret, Black House-White Market, Coldwater Creek and Old Navy. If you’re looking for some good coffee or food, you’ve got Starbucks, Encore, 131 Main, Brixx Pizza and McCalisters Deli and many more.
Across the street is the newest shopping plaza, Blakeney Crossing. The flagship stores are Best Buy and PetSmart. Here you’ll also find Newks, SAS Cupcakes, Salsarita’s, Room 18 Sushi, The UPS Store, Smoothie King and much more. If you need to do some banking, you’ll find Bank of America, Wachovia and Sun Trust within these two shopping centers.
On one of the other 3 corners you’ll find the Blakeney professional park, where there’s a Carolinas Medical Center Urgent Care, plastic surgery, dentistry, eye care, child care, etc. The 4th corner has yet to be developed but plans are for more of the same great businesses that will meld perfectly with the blend of shops and restaurants that have already proved to be very successful in Blakeney.
If you think you wan to live near and walk to these conveniences, check out Blakeney Greens, which is off Rea Road, across from the Blakeney shopping center and next to the Blakeney Crossing shopping center. Nestled in this neighborhood, you’ll find some “old world” single family homes built by Saussy Burbank, a local builder that builds quality, turn of the century style homes that are reflective of the craftsman and Victorian architecture. You will also find town homes in Blakeney Greens and Blakeney Preserve that also offer the same convenience to walking to your favorite shop or restaurant.
